DAVAO CITY - Presumptive President Rodrigo Duterte is not letting parents get a free pass for allowing their minor children to be out by themselves after curfew.
Just like in Davao City, Duterte will set a 10 p.m. curfew for unaccompanied minors."My order is this: not to arrest the child. The child must be taken into custody by the police and the agencies concerned," he told reporters at the Hotel Elena, his first public appearance after being out of the public eye for almost a week.
"Then, go to the house to arrest the mother and the father for the crime of child abandonment," Duterte added. This was to be implemented for repeat offenders.
He cited the Revised Penal Code as his source for arresting parents found guilty of letting their minor children roam the streets. — DVM, GMA News
